Bhakti Bliss Festival Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a subtle yet powerful practice and state of being that allows for an unwinding from the patterns of our lives and culture through a deep release of mental, emotional and physical tensions.

Translated literally, this ancient practice called “yogic sleep” is easy to do, accessible to all, and profoundly relaxing. While the body settles into a deeply restful state, the mind remains awake and aware, allowing you to access deeper levels of consciousness.

In these changing times, the work of releasing ways of thinking and behaving that don’t serve us is more important than ever. These patterns, called Samskaras, arise from the repetitions of the mind and our actions and can form our conditioning on an individual and cultural level.

This practice will provide an opportunity to practice radical rest, an act of UN-doing of all the external influences, to be able to return to a more balanced and embodied way of being in the world.  You’ll be guided by Chantal into a liminal, trance-like state of imagining, acceptance, self nurturance, and intentional awareness, which is a powerful combination for supporting creativity, processing, and overall ease over time.

Yoga Nidra has been found to be effective in the treatment of stress-related illnesses including including insomnia, anxiety, and depression, and in boosting immune system and overall health. This practice helps people to lead more integrated, genuine, and contented lives and can help to heal psychological and emotional wounds.

As the light chases away the dark on the Vernal Equinox, we are presented with a moment in time that invites the release of what is no longer serving, so that we can realign and set new intentions for the season ahead.

Pairing a cacao ceremony with traditional yogic practices (pranayama breathwork, gentle movement, and yoga nidra) creates the opportunity to be deeply present within the body - maybe in a new way, open our hearts, and quiet the internal noise to help us connect to our most embodied, heart-centred, and intuitive self.  To prepare for a season of energy and growth,  we gather in community to sow seeds of intention.

  • Enjoy a cup of ceremonial-grade cacao together and learn about its benefits.

  • Make space for growth by releasing what has served & what is no longer serving you. Set heart-aligned intentions.

  • Allow vibrational breathwork and chanting to bring balance to body, mind and spirit.

Yoga Nidra is both a practice and a state of being that allows for the deep release of mental, emotional, and physical tension. What’s Included?

20 hours of training by Yoga Alliance Certified Education Providers Chantal Houde and Cat Doyle.

Yoga Nidra recordings by Chantal and Cat for self-directed learning (some to be completed prior to the beginning of the training) and to continue your personal practice.

3 training sessions over one weekend: 1 online and 2 in-person in a tranquil and natural setting near Ottawa.

Meet Yogi Chantal Houde who has been teaching since 2015 in the community, studio, and in private settings not only in Canada but internationally as well. Chantal understands yoga as a practice in awareness and acceptance of ourselves and our environment and incorporates elements of several yoga lineages into her classes.
