do you feel disconnected?
If you want to nurture a deeper, more authentic connection to your true self, to the people that are important to you, to Earth, and to a vibrant life, you can.
it will take time, practice, and deep compassion.
Like anything lasting, this approach does not offer a quick fix.
It reflects and requires relationship with the natural world and your community. It is bigger than just you. As you begin to change, you may find that your environment begins to change in little ways, too. This isn’t by mistake.
I developed this system over almost two decades of learning and working with people, communities, and systems around the world.
It draws on my extensive experience and learnings in the eight limbs of yoga (NOT just the glamourous, easy to describe ones like pranayama and asana), nervous system physiology and function, ecopsychology and environmentalism, and systems and modern culture.
It has also been the way I healed in my own life: through 15 years of trial and error in creating better health after experiencing cancer at just 25 years old, a wide range of “mystery” autoimmune symptoms through my twenties like extreme nerve pain, arthritis, digestive issues, eczema, migraines, TMJ, as well as depression and dissociation, severe cystic acne, environmental allergies, diminishing sight, long-viral infections (yes, those existed pre-COVID), and recurring urinary tract infections and strep throat infections that brought me to the ER many times with dangerously high fevers.
I also had severe night terrors for many years, and a string of unhealthy and unsupportive romantic relationships that left me feeling anxious, confused, and needy.
I coped for many years by over-working and staying busy, putting aside my own needs and boundaries, and engaging in increasingly harmful behaviours that are nonetheless often seen as ‘normal’ in our culture; I was a heavy and highly dissociative binge drinker, had several risky sexual encounters, smoked cigarettes for 20 years, and used cannabis regularly too - at times daily. I also had a severe addiction to pornography for over 16 years that had a huge (negative) impact on my self-esteem, my sexuality, my mental, emotional, and spiritual health, and my ability to relate to men and women around me.
If you had met me, though, you probably wouldn’t have had any idea about any of this. I was, outwardly, doing quite well in life, with a good education, moving forward in my career, living in a nice apartment, travelling tons, with lots of friends, hobbies, and a love of fitness and healthy food.
But I still felt sick, disconnected, lonely, sad, and unable to make change in my life, even though I wanted to.
Until I started to take a more compassionate, whole-person approach and apply systems theory to my self and my life.
Later, I used the same approach with others and saw how simple, seemingly small shifts can have a lasting impact.
A Physiological, systems approach to a vital, fulfilled life
(whatever that means for you!)
Maybe some of this sounds like your experience.
Maybe you’ve been dealing with some of the same health issues or addictions.
Maybe you’re having a hard time sustaining relationships.
Maybe you’ve tried “everything” and it still seems like lasting change is out of your reach.
Maybe, like me, you were just so done with being sick and tired and deeply unsettled all the time.
You’re tired of being on the rollercoaster.
Or maybe this particular phase is a new ride for you - you’re in a phase of life that just seems more challenging and your usual tools don’t seem to be alleviating your stress.
The Naturespace approach will help support you in making long-lasting change. Reach out with me to chat more about it!
